About Us
Welcome To The Austin Healey Club Of Oregon
Monthly Meetings and Good Friends
We are first and foremost a social club, but a social club that is strongly based around our beloved Healeys, their repair, restoration and driving. The club holds monthly meetings, usually on the second Saturday in varying locations. In the winter months these meetings revolve around technical sessions related to the repair, restoration and operation of our Healeys and holiday parties too. In the spring, summer and fall months, the meetings center around driving our cars, including at least one over night trip each year. The meeting place changes each month, but generally it moves up and down the Willamette River Valley between Eugene in the south and Portland in the north, so most of our members have a meeting “in their backyard” every couple of months. Groups of members often informally get together to caravan to meetings when they’re away from home.
Healey Northwest - Our Monthly Newsletter
AHCO is very proud of its monthly newsletter. It is packed cover to cover each month with information about club events, technical issues, classified and commercial ads, and their solutions, and even a little gossip. Members (and non-members too) are encouraged to contribute their experiences, tech tips, and what-have-you to the HNW. Their contributions make it an interesting and varied newsletter.
Tours
As noted above, AHCO’s core value is the enjoyment of our Healeys as the sports and touring cars they were built to be. So from Spring to late Fall meetings are associated with a drive, whether one around the local area of the meeting place or a major, all-day tour to an overnight location at the coast, in the mountains or to one of the other scenic sights of the great Pacific Northwest.
Source of advice about your Healey questions
Though AHCO is a medium sized club, we have many very knowledgeable members. One of the greatest assets of membership is the friends you make and the contacts made available to you for the asking. Most members are happy to answer any question asked of them.
Tech Sessions
During the winter months, when it’s too wet and cold to drive our babies, AHCO programs concentrate on educating our membership about our cars, how they work and how to fix them. These sessions offer a great opportunity to increase one’s knowledge of our cars and of various service providers in the region.
Access to the largest Healey newsletter library anywhere
AHCO has been actively involved in exchanging newsletters with dozens of other Healey and non-Healey sports car clubs throughout the world for over 20 years. During that time the club has amassed an unprecedented collection of technical information. At present the library contains well over 4,000 volumes of these newsletters. They form a great resource to members seeking answers to technical questions. But a library is useless without a key to find its contents. Therefore AHCO has prepared and sells copies of a Comprehensive Index to AHCO Library articles which serves this purpose. With it, users can locate articles on any one of hundreds of subjects and identify their location. The Index is available from the Club Regalia. Copies of articles are available at nominal cost by request to the Club’s Librarian.
Access to loaner videos of past AHCO tech sessions
Often a tech session is interesting but its not what you’re working on at the moment and it’s content does not meet an immediate need. Members may not be able to attend a tech session of interest to them. To meet these challenges, several years ago the Club Librarian started to video tape tech sessions. These videos are available to Club members on loan. This allows members to access a tech session when it’s of interest to them. The only cost to members is postage both ways for the video tape.

Club Directory
This is every member’s passport to information and friends. Published annually and issued to every member. Included in the directory is information about members’ special expertise.
Club Regalia
The Club is a source of numerous pieces of clothing, Healey memorabilia and the latest books on Healeys. A great place to purchase Healey-related items at very reasonable prices. Club Regalia is available at most meetings or by mail from our Regalia Team.
Annual West Coast Austin Healey Meet
All of the Austin-Healey Clubs west of the Rockies cooperate in putting on a big get together each summer. The meet moves up and down the Pacific Coast.
Annual Northwest Austin Healey Meet
Over ten years ago the three Pacific Northwest Austin Healey Clubs (BC, Cascade, and AHCO) got together and decided to sponsor a “laid back” meet somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. In 1999 the Northwest Meet was sponsored by the Austin Healey Club of Oregon. This meet was in Sisters, OR. See the UPCOMING EVENTS page for more information about this years meet.
Access to information about how to buy parts and services
The AHCO club membership and the Healey Northwest are great sources of information about Healeys and Healey parts for sale, as well as providers of Healey services.
